Writing is an important part of who I am. After college, I began my journalism career in earnest, working as a reporter and editor for a number of prestigious publications and publishing my own online newspaper.
Now, I am taking a less structured path by writing this blog, doing contract work and focusing on book projects. The first book being “The Dirt Around Lake Tahoe: Must-Do Scenic Hikes.”
When I’m not on the computer, I am walking on a beach with my dog AJ, playing tennis, or discovering new places. Travel and the outdoors feed my soul. Chronicling my adventures, thoughts and experiences with words and pictures are what this blog is all about.
I’m splitting my time between South Lake Tahoe, California, and Todos Santos, Baja California Sur, Mexico.
My previous work has included being an editor at the San Francisco Chronicle, San Francisco Examiner, Las Vegas Sun and Tahoe Daily Tribune. I have freelanced for the New York Times, Reuters, Sacramento Business Journal, San Francisco Chronicle, Tahoe Mountain News and other publications. My last full-time gig was as publisher of Lake Tahoe News.
I am a member of the Society of Professional Journalists, and North American Travel Journalists Association.
