When history looks at what people did to stop Hitler, some did nothing, others risked their lives to shelter Jewish people.

When history asks what people did to stop Trump, what will you say?

Some will say they voted for him—three times and would do so again if they could.

I don’t fall into that category. I never voted for him.

He scares me with his desires to dismantle rights in the Constitution.

He angers me with his executive orders that turn back progress in equal rights, the environment, and health care.

He threatens me by taking away LGBTQ rights.

It is beyond alarming millions of people agree with him.

The patriarchy must be abolished.

I won’t sit back and watch my country devolve. That’s why this month I set up monthly recurring donations to the ACLU and Planned Parenthood.

The email Planned Parenthood sent said, “Your gift will help bolster Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s efforts to protect and expand access to reproductive health care. It will also support your local Planned Parenthood affiliate and the Planned Parenthood health centers most in need so they can continue to provide critical services like cancer screenings, birth control, and more.”

I encourage all of you to give what you can to organizations you believe in. Most are on the front lines fighting our fight. They can’t do it without money.

On Jan. 23 there was a webinar with a group of panelists from the Women’s March about what the next steps are after hundreds of thousands of people showed up Jan. 18 across the United States and in other countries for the People’s March.

Because people want to be and are engaged there will be mass organizing calls like these twice a month starting in March. The goal is to help people find an area to get plugged into; after all, more than 100 organizations are part of the People’s March coalition.

It’s about leaning into the skills one has  like speaking a language other than English to help with translations, it’s contacting lawmakers, it’s about doing something other than whining. Being engaged is important. For ideas check out this tool kit as well as this website.

During the webinar it was pointed out midterm elections are 92 weeks away. Now is the time to pave the path to flip seats. The speaker said 20-plus congressional districts are within the win differential. That’s huge.

With 90 million people sitting out the November 2024 election, it’s time to get those people on board to understand what is at risk with this administration and the MAGA machine.
