This is a group for anyone who is concerned about the direction of our country and wants to take a stand for democracy, human rights, and the well-being of our communities.
We are stronger together than apart, and we refuse to let division and fear isolate us. Join us as we work to support and protect our neighbors and stand up for the values that matter to us all.
We are a community of diverse perspectives, united by a shared commitment to strengthening our democracy. While we may approach issues from different angles, we believe in working together with respect, dialogue, and action to create a system that truly represents and serves everyone.
Those are the words from Indivisible Chico‘s “about page”.
Indivisible groups have been organizing across the country to stand up to MAGA-ism and its evils. The goal is to “build grassroots power and fight for a truly inclusive democracy.”
I was with about 50 people standing on a Chico street corner on July 4 protesting the bill that was passed the day before that seems to alter who we are as a nation. A bill that is the opposite of Robin Hood because it steals from the poor and gives to the rich.
It was great to hear all the horns honking and see the thumbs up from people in passing vehicles.

It matters that we stand up and be counted. I’ll be attending more of their events. We all need to do our part before it’s too late.
Another local group is Stand Up for Chico. They announced John Lewis Day: Good Trouble Lives on … Civil Rights, Voting Rights in the free speech area at Chico State on July 17 at 6:30pm. People will walk to the Hands sculpture. It’s on my calendar.
