Protests mark 1-year anniversary of Trump’s presidency

People took to the streets on Jan. 20 on the one-year anniversary of Trump’s second inauguration to protest his dictatorship.

What a year it has been.

The “Free America” protest was a call to action for people to leave work, school, wherever they were at 2pm to call attention to the chaos of this presidency.

Several hundred people did so in Chico; gathering at a popular, busy corner of the city. Most of the vehicles passing through the intersection honked in support of the those standing with signs that condemned the actions of Trump and his hatchet men.

Anti-ICE signs were prolific. It seems not a day goes by that agents of this federal agency haven’t committed some horrific crime. It’s despicable that the federal goon who murdered Renee Good in Minneapolis on Jan. 7 will likely not be held accountable for his actions.

ICE is out of controllable. Their bosses in D.C. are out of control. The people supporting this behavior are out of control.

Protesting may not be enough to retain our democracy.
