“There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed.” ― Ernest Hemingway

Every successful writer has lived that quote. Those who persevere beyond the bleeding discover that a salient string of words is like a wonderful culinary creation where the flavors meld together to become something greater and more delicious than their individual parts. Like a memorable dining experience, individual words become a story worthy of rereading, retelling, remembering—a feast for the senses in their own right.

For decades, I have been dissecting complicated information so it becomes a story for the masses or the individual. I have the experience and well-earned reputation for turning the mundane into something memorable. As an editor I make copy ready for publication while keeping the author’s voice intact and not leaving my fingerprints behind.

Key Skill Areas:

Writing

Potential subjects – travel, food-wine-beer-spirits, outdoors, environmental, hard news, breaking news, features, profiles, and human interest. Deadline oriented. Multiple sources, fact checked, and clean copy.

Editing

Everyone needs an editor, even if it’s only for a few paragraphs. Massaging words takes delicate hands so as not to lose the writer’s point-of-view. Editing can also be ruthless to make it readable. It doesn’t matter if you are working on a short deadline, lengthier assignment or ongoing project.

Website Content

People have short attention spans because of today’s fast-paced, information-at-your-fingertips environment. This is why words matter even more online than in print. It’s a balance between getting your message out and delivering what the reader/customer wants. With key words, you can boost your search engine optimization as well as readability. You may be starting a project from scratch or need a revision.

Public Relations

If no one knows about your business, nonprofit agency or the like, it is hard to make money or grow the organization. It’s time to provide content that will be picked up by various media. Your company needs an action plan for targeting traditional media, a focused social media platform, and deliberate content delivered via email.
